Disaster Recovery Testing
Post date: May 10, 2014 4:10:07 PM
Attention alio users: (please share with appropriate staff)
The CESA 10 IT staff would like to perform a full test of the alio Disaster Recovery Process this Saturday, May 10th.
What that means to you: You will not have access to alio, alio Intelligence, or Employee Portal on Saturday, May 10th. If all goes as planned the servers could be back up and operational by the middle of the afternoon. We will send an email after the testing is complete.
What will the IT Staff be doing: The plan is to take the alio servers off-line so users can not log in and do entry work while the systems are directed to the backup servers; which would result in you doing entry work in the backup database and then it not being in the live database once the servers are brought back on-line. Which would probably leave you wondering where all your hours of entry went to. The IT staff will then perform all the necessary steps for Disaster Recovery. Once the testing is complete they will bring the servers back on-line and I will send an email letting you know you can access alio again. Nothing will change for you. This is simply a test of our Disaster Recovery Plan process.
It is our hope that by performing this testing on a weekend it will not interfere as much with your work. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call Randy Bowe or myself.
Reminder: You can always check the status of the alio hosting servers by going to: alio.cesa10.org
